Caleb had just been out for a good time, and maybe to scout out a few boys who might have had a bit of potential. Plus the mall was always a good place to escape to. There were always people to see and places to be, but not today. Of all of the hundreds of kids milling around trying to kill their weekend slump or at least seem like they had a reason to be out and about, Caleb had only spotted a handful of cute boys. Well, one really. Caleb had just barely caught a glimpse of the boy as he slumped against the far wall of the arcade and lit up a cigarette, hiding between the pinball machines and trying not to get caught. Really all that he’d caught sight of was a shaggy mop of black hair framing a pale and boyishly round face with a pair of crystal blue eyes. He was gorgeous. And Caleb had had the strangest urge to stamp out his cigarette and waltz right up to that boy. Instead he wrinkled his nose adorably and pouted as he slumped back against the wall and took another long drag on his cigarette. Honestly, what happened to all the cute boys? Where were the surfer boys with shaggy blonde hair and killer tans? Wait, let me rephrase that. Where were all the cute boys period?
Irritated with his sudden realization of the scarcity of adorable boys Caleb took one last drag from his cigarette before he blew a long stream of smoke from his lips and flicked the butt of the cigarette into a nearby trashcan. Maybe the whole place would go up in flames. Now that would be interesting. But Caleb darling couldn’t afford to burn down the mall, nor did he fancy the idea of prison. He’d have to cut all his hair and that just wouldn’t do. Striding out of the arcade, Caleb passed several recognizable stores, his hands shoved deeply into his pockets. PacSun had it’s mannequins decked out in skimpy beachwear, American Eagle had a feeble rack full of winter apparel announcing their ‘lowest prices ever’ and Abercrombie was much too dark to see inside. To be perfectly honest, Caleb didn’t exactly how he’d wound up where he was now. Sure, he remembered venturing out of his apartment in search of some smokes, but how in the world had he ended up in the mall of all places? With a smooth flick of his head, Caleb managed to toss his shaggy sidebangs away from his eyes, and a pair of calm blue eyes blinked out lazily across the lobby of the shopping area. This was what you got for being some little closeted weirdo, a lazy Saturday afternoon with absolutely nothing to do and no one to see. What a pity.
Or was it? Spying a head of gorgeous brown hair Caleb instantly perked up. Well didn’t she just look familiar. Frowning briefly, Caleb unconsciously fished out a nearly empty pack of cigarettes and tapped one out of the box, placing it between his lips and absently lighting it up with a long drag. God it felt wonderful to smoke. Feeling his lips twist to the side, Caleb grinned crookedly before he managed to untangle his mile long legs and lope across the polished floors rather clumsily and hoping like hell he wasn’t going to make a fool of himself as he slung an arm around the girl’s shoulders. Leaning heavily against her as he took a long drag from his cigarette Caleb lazily blew a puff of smoke in the direction of the shirtless man pictured in the Abercrombie advertising poster. “He’s just delicious isn’t he, baby girl?” He purred playfully before he flashed her a bone white grin. “Maybe not as nice as an Antonio Banderas blow up doll, but close.”

I FLY LIKE PAPER GET HIGH LIKE PLANES IF YOU CATCH ME at the border, i got vises in my name ! » Jaeda really had no reason to be out. She wasn't one to go out seeking guys, or go out and hope she would accidentally run into someone she knew. Really, she shouldn't be out at all. She should be home, secluded in her room, for fear of getting an infection- that's what her mother would love for her to do, anyway. Jaeda was sick of the seclusion. It was like, even when she wasn't fighting leukemia, she was still fighting it because of the aftermath. And really, she wasn't entirely convinced she was done with her fight. Every time was like this- get treatment, get violently ill, then be completely better for a long time. And just when she'd start to let herself think the fight was over, bam! She was in remission now, but God knows how long that would last. She was just biding her time until the abnormal cells decided to surface again- because she was convinced they would, eventually.
» But looking at Jaeda, you'd think for all the world she was a perfectly normal, perfectly healthy child. She always seemed to have a grin plastered on her face, always seemed to be in a good mood. She loved to have fun, and just judging by her demeanor, you'd never think she'd been sick. This was how Jaeda liked it. She never wanted anybody to know about her childhood, not wanting unnecessary sympathy. She just wanted to live her life as much as she could, as long as she could- even if that meant she didn't make it to eightteen.
» The beach wasn't appealing to Jaeda today. She hated going alone, and couldn't get a hold of anyone to see if they wanted to go with her. Times like these, she wished she and Alyssa didn't hate each other. Actually, correction- Alyssa hated Jaeda. Jaeda wished Alyssa didn't hate her, but generally tried to avoid her sister, because it always ended up being a hostile encounter. It was because of the kidney. It wasn't Jaeda's fault she needed it, or that Alyssa was the logical choice for a donor, considering they were genetically identical, and it definitely wasn't her fault that their parents forced Alyssa to donate said kidney. Jaeda wouldn't even have asked for it. But there was nothing she could do about it now. Anyway, the mall seemed like the logical choice. Maybe she'd see someone she knew and happen to have a short encounter with them?
» She was staring at shirtless man in some ad poster, admiring his immaculate abs, when she suddenly felt an arm on her shoulder. This didn't disturb her as much as it would most other people. As far as Jaeda figured, if it was someone intent on hurting her, they would have done something more harmful than slinging an arm on her shoulder, or would have at least quickly follwed it up with some sinister whisper. But instead, the voice that came next sounded cheerful. She looked at the reflection in the glass and smiled. "Well I don't know about that," she said with a grin, and turned away from the ad, toward the boy. "But since it's the closest thing, I guess he's a decent substitute. Look at those abs. Daaaaaamn." if you come around here, i make 'EM ALL DAY I GET ONE DOWN IN A SECOND IF YOU WAIT ! tag » caleb. ?!status » finished. ?!notes » sorry for my fail. ?!outfit » click ?!lyrics » "paper planes" - MIA

He was sure he was going to get himself killed one day, honestly. Either from being as careless as hell or by his shameless ability to talk to anyone. He figured it was going to be the first rather than the latter. He cringed softly and glanced down at the cigarette held loosely between his fingers before he shrugged and raised it to his lips, taking a long drag and making those neat little smoke rings as he exhaled. One of the many things he loved about smoking. What? It could so be considered artistic. He made pretty things in the smoke. And cue Caleb’s shameless sociability as he flung his arm around a pretty little brunette’s shoulder, barely resisting kissing her cheek. He probably would have done so had he not been self-conscious of the fact that his mouth probably smelled horribly like smoke. “Well I don't know about that, but since it's the closest thing, I guess he's a decent substitute.” At this, Caleb couldn’t help but snort, rolling his eyes as he took another drag from his cigarette and shrugged. “They’re probably just airbrushed,” he murmured, almost surprised at himself before he burst into delightful laughter and shook his head wildly. “Look at those abs. Daaaaaamn.” Caleb, cocky as ever, giggled girlishly and let one hip cock out to the side as he struck an overly done pose. “Ohmigod, thanks, baby! You know I’ve been working out for ever now; I didn’t think anyone would ever notice! he squealed brightly before he burst into childish rings of laughter, his cheeks flushing a delicious little ink color before he flashed her a grin and took a drag from his cigarette, pout softly as he examined to small red circle of angry looking skin from where he’d managed to burn himself. Again. Silly Caleb. Contrary to what Caleb would love for everyone to believe, he was honestly tiny. Horribly so. Not an ounce of muscle on him; just all straight hips, awkward lines, and feminine curves. Sadly, it actually kind of worked for him. He probably would have been ‘pretty’ if he wasn’t nearly six goddamn feet tall, instead he thought his lanky limbs were awkward and unlovable. Silly boy.
Caleb, anxious now that his last dwindling cigarette was now nothing more than a centimeter or two of ash above the filter, huffed and ran a hand through his hair. Honestly, why was he so.. wound up? He’d felt this way for, well, ever since he moved to Miami. Maybe he should have never left. Never left Oliver, never left their apartment, never left their playful late night dinners, never left everything he knew behind. Shaking his head Caleb suddenly reached out and decidedly snatched Jaeda’s hand into his own, dragging her away from the very ogle-worthy picture of some scantily clad male model’s abs and towards the fountain in the middle of the mall and tossing the last of his smoldering cigarette into the water as if he were making a wish. Sadly, Caleb was tackily classy enough to do. Not that he’d ever admit it.. okay, he’d probably admit it if anyone asked. He was a sucker for wishes. Taking the gorgeous brunette by the shoulders, Caleb pushed her down onto the little ‘bench’ type ring encircling the fountain and pointed at his chest suddenly. “Why do I feel weird?” Okay, stupid question. Sighing dramatically Caleb threw his hands into the air and flopped down beside Jaeda, managing not to let out a squeak as his jeans nearly cut off his circulation. Note to self: skin tight skinnies and sitting; not a good combination. “Okay, that was a stupid question, I admit it.” Caleb shrugged helplessly as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his thighs and letting his hands dangle uselessly between his knees. “You know, I really just need a bag of gummi worms and some one to rant to,” he finally admitted before he grinned and cast her a glance in askance, raising a brow as he giggled adorably and immediately scrambled, a bit clumsily, to his feet. “Hey, baby girl, wanna be my date?” Caleb asked eagerly, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet and looking positively.. well, adorable. There’s no other way to explain the puppy like expectation as he held his hands out to help her up if she deemed it necessary to gorge on overly sweet candies and listen to Caleb spill his heart out to her.
