born on april 2nd during the middle of a thunderstorm to dawson and emily price in orlando, florida. the third child and the only girl. two brothers preceded her and welcomed the newest addition with open arms. to start at the beginning; dawson and emily met at a mutual friend's wedding. emily caught the bouquet and dawson caught the garder. so as fatr would have it, the two began talking and just joking about how they're going to get married one day. well, six months later emily was walking down the aisle, dawson on the opposite end. it was quite a shotgun wedding, but it was pulled off beautifully. thanks to dawson inheriting his father's business and emily being a 'trust fund baby', there was than enough money to float the last minute bills they wracked up. the honeymoon took place in venice, italy and that's where they conceived their child, brock.

two years after brock came jeremiah. emily and dawson had their hands full and with brock's frequent business trips, it seemed like emily had more than enough things to do in a day. the stress of having two young boys began to wear on the young parents and eventually sparked a few fights between the married couple. dawson began dabbling in drugs to try and relieve the stress, but it only caused more turmoil. emily found out about his little extracurricular activity and confronted him. there was a huge emotional breakdown and the two seemed to come to a common ground. things were going good for awhile and then emily found out she was pregnant for a third time, just three years after jeremiah. dawson was elated when he found out he was having a girl and completely stopped doing drugs and even took off work for awhile.

once harlan had been born, it seemed like life was perfect. harlan was a very obedient baby, always smiling and never causing a fuss. she handled the teasing of her brothers beautifully and was even able to keep up with their outlandish ways once she became a toddler. emily adored her three children and showed them off with pride. even dawson would take them out trick-or-treating and went to their baseball games and even harlan's dance recitals. harlan grew into a lively pre-teen. the family moved to miami just as harlan was entering high school and it was this move that changed everything.

the heavy drug traffic in miami lured dawson back into the drug scene. work was becoming more stressful and his two sons were rebelling against every word he said. soon dawson found himself spiraling into a world controlled by his cocaine addiction. harlan was the first to notice the change in her father. he lost a lot of weight and became physically violent against her and her brothers. the typically outgoing young girl became quiet, reclusive, and terrified. it was her sophomore year of high school when her mother divorced her father in hopes that it would convince to attend rehab. it didn't work. he gathered his belongings from their house and was never seen again. the kids in her high school told her that they had seen him dead in alley way. though as time went on, things slowly got better. emily did not remarry and harlan's brothers got their act together and helped take care of the family.

harlan's final two years in high school were quite enjoyable, but she was never close to having any relationships due the emotional scars her father had left behind. she graduated in the top of her class and is now attending college, steering clear of the drug scene, but is very much prevalent in parties. she got into drinking her senior year and continues to do, though not heavily or in a dangerous manner. she did manage to have a relationship of three and half years that recently ended due to her now ex turning to drugs. obviously she was unable to handle that emotional strain and sent him to rehab. she hasn't heard from him since and despite a few efforts to contact him, she has given up. she's moving on with her life and just living for herself.
