i heard that you were trouble BUT I COULDN'T RESIST a yellow cab drew up swiftly outside inferno night club, though it went unnoticed by the long line of people waiting outside the door. one of the doors opened and two slim, long legs appeared before a whole body emerged. the girl who now stood on the pavement was slim and brunette, with long legs and a haughty stance about her. as she stepped up to the front of the line, multiple pairs of eyes finally noticed her through the crowd, and most of them turned exasperated. another trust fund baby had arrived to take their place. now they’d have to stand outside a while longer. as she walked by the long line, the young woman smiled. it was another saturday, one that ameliah marie barton didn’t want to go by without playing around a bit. so instead of lazing about at home or accepting one of the many dinner invitations issued to her weekly, she’d decided to go and paint the city red. or scarlet…whatever. the whole point was, she was going to have some fun tonight no matter what it took. for some reason lately work had built up leaving her no time for anything remotely relaxing, let alone fun. in fact, it had been a long week, which was just another reason liah was out and about. unlike most people, liah didn’t go and sleep the whole week end when she’d been working, no, she always just went out to ply until she could collapse at home or someone else’s place.
liah made her way slowly past the crowds wondering about the front of the club, her eyes trained on the familiar door. as soon as she had arrived in miami, liah had instantly set about finding out the best clubs because if there was nothing else in the world to depend on, it was the night scene of miami. liah always knew that she’d get in, and that was just another plus when she decided to go out. inwardly she shuddered at the thought of having to wait an hour or so just to get into a club. what was the point? she shifted a tendril of brunette hair that she had left down behind one ear as she stepped past the body guard and into the club. as soon as she stepped into the club, liah was hit by a solid wall of heat and noise. it wasn’t so bad though, after clubbing since she’d first turned legal, liah had become used it all and sometimes even craved the loud music and crushed dance floors. really, it was only there that she could totally come undone and not have to worry about herself because liah could always take care of herself, well she could usually take care of herself anyway. liah strode down the stairs that led her into the room, lights flashed over her face highlighting her artificially darkened eyes and her soft, upswept hair do. quickly, liah looked down at her outfit, her mouth curving upwards in a pleased smirk. she was going to kill tonight.
her outfit was simple, a pair of high waist shorts, a white singlet and a black cropped jacket, but paired with liah’s favourite black stilettos and her killer legs, it looked fabulously sexy. liah licked her lips, her amber eyes beginning to sparkle in the face of some fun. she had some money tucked in her back pocket, her killer outfit and zest for going after what she wanted, what more could she need? as if in answer to her silent question, a guy dressed in jeans and a collared shirt walked up to her and motioned to the crowded dance floor. liah’s smirk changed to a flirty grin and she nodded her head in ascent, it was no use yelling over the music, besides, who cared about his name, she’d only see him for one night. taking the guy’s hand, liah led them out into the middle of the dance floor and as soon as they had paused, liah started dancing with him. as soon as she started moving, her sexy grin widened and she let her hips shake in time to the music. some people thought because she was rich little ‘daddy’s girl’ that she wouldn’t know how to dance and party with the best of them. it was funny how wrong they were, liah could be as wild as she wanted depending on the situation. tonight though she wanted to let go completely. already she could feel her stressed muscles relax as the thumping music surrounded her and kept her hypnotized. the guy she was dancing with placed his hands on her hips and she moved closer. still moving to the music, liah tilted her head back and closed her eyes, ahh, bring on the good times.

A flip of coin could solve any situation. Which team would start the game or which movie to watch. In Noah's case it was which of he and his buddies would be the designated driver. The losers would have to flip the small piece of money until there was no one left. Anxiousness rose as Noah and his friend Greg were the last two. He was extremely nervous, not wanting to be the poor loser who couldn't drink at the clubs. Luck was on his side though once the shinny round object hit the ground head side up. Noah let out a big sigh of relief followed by some laughter as he teased Greg, who wasn't a sore loser. It would have been different had the coin flipped tails but the decision was made by fate and he had nothing to worry about yet. The tall, built guy was looking forward to a night out. There had been drama lurking his way and running was the best thing he could do for now.
The small, but annoying alarm clock on Noah's night stand read seven. It was time for the player to gather his pieces for the night. He took a quick shower, making sure that every drop of grease on his body gone and lathered in Axe soap so he didn't smell like car parts. He may have been a dirty boy with a dirty job but Noah knew how to clean himself up. Especially a night like this when he would venture out into the world of wonder. He slipped out of the shower and into his bedroom. There was no doubt in his mind that he would meet at least one girl tonight, so he had to make sure he looked his best. Noah ravaged threw his clothes picking out unfaded blue jeans, a white undershirt, a blue button up, and to top it all off were his gray stunners. Appearance was no doubt a biggy for him. It was just the conceded bastard that he was. Noah was the best and surrounded him with the best. He was an ass, no doubt but those who didn't know him usually didn't make it past the first night anyways.
Noah didn't have to wait long for his buddies after texing them that he was ready. Being the "pretty one" of the group he took the longest to get ready but every minute was worth it in the end. Despite his arrogant ways his buddies loved him, in a non homo way. That was the purpose of friends right? When Noah first ran off to Miami he hid from his past. Now he had a new and completely different life then before. He wasn't always as cocky before and most would never believe such a thing. There were few who even knew of his past. He may have been an attention hog but never about his mistakes that lingered. To Noah it was like forming a new identity. He was the player/bad boy that girls had trouble staying away from where in reality he was quite the opposite. It was a mask shielding away his pain and guilt. So far no one had broken in him in yet but he knew it would only be so long before he couldn't hold in the lies.
For Noah didn't want to worry about the future. He was living in the moment like he had for many years. Never giving a damn. Excitement rose inside the car as they drove into the club parking lot. The one positive thing about being partiers was that the were VIP's to almost every club in the city. It was a delight for him to see the pist off faces of those who had to stand in line while they walked right in. Though this time Noah paused before entering the club and grabbed the hand of a beautiful blond in the line. "This one is with me." He pointed out to the bouncer who only nodded in approval back. He placed his arms around the shoulder of the girl who had been more then willing to leave her friends to walk in the club with him. Once inside loud music and yelling voices filled his ears. The sound of freedom. Noah enjoyed everything about the club.
Slowly but surely he made his way over to the bar with the blond while his buddies went to scoop out some fresh meat for themselves. His attention was on the blond ninety-five percent of the time while the other five percent gazed for to wards a stunning burnett at the bar. Something was alluring about her and his eyes locked on her from the time she was at the bar till she was pulled out onto the dance floor with another guy. Just from the look of the eye she was a very confident gal, which in return made her look sexy as she swayed her body on the dance floor. "By yourself something to drink." He said to the blond as he left her some money and made his way threw the crowd to wards the that unknowingly reeled him in. "May I cut in?" On a normal basis Noah would just grab her and dance but he wasn't looking for any fights tonight so he would leave the choice up to her. i heard that you were trouble BUT I COULDN'T RESIST liah knew from the looks she was getting as she danced that she looked good, and for a girl who worked in the fashion industry, it shouldn’t have been anything new, but ever since she was little she had loved having people watch her with awe, or even envy, in their eyes. one couldn’t exactly call it refreshing because it happened too many times for it to be new, but it was nice to see that she could attract attention like this. a small smile curved her full lips upwards, ahh but it was nice to be out and not worrying about anything. she didn’t even have to worry about smudging her eyeliner or loosing an earring, but then again, that was only because she had chosen not to wear any makeup or to adorn her outfit. within the first few weeks of hitting the clubs, liah had learned that wearing make up was useless no matter how water proof, because it would always smudge and make you look like you hadn’t slept for about nine years. as for the jewelry, liah had quickly learnt that some people in club had quick fingers and could get off your thousand dollar bracelet without you noticing until the end of the night.
for a second liah’s mouth pulled down in a frown, how many thousands of dollars had she lost because people were too lazy to go make their own money? probably more than she liked to remember. warm hands circled her small waist letting her know that the unknown guy who had pulled her onto the dance floor was still there. again, her mouth changed, this time from her small frown to a sexy grin. still moving her body in time to the thumping music, liah turned so that she could face the guy. she knew that this was just a one dance thing, from the looks of his clothes he wasn’t anything more than some student at the local university. definitely not up to her standards. it was strange but even though she danced with people from everywhere and from every type of bank account, it was only those that passed her tests that actually got into her pants…or her room. you know what i mean. and the tests? well they weren’t that hard in liah’s opinion, but apparently, and this was coming from her friends, she needed to lay off the male race a bit.
liah inwardly rolled her eyes. as if she needed to lay off them, she’d been taken advantage of too many times, hence the tests. besides, she didn’t want to sleep with just anyone. what if they were really bad at sex? then where was the fun in that? mentally, liah shook her head and adjusted her body to the new beat as the song slowed, heading towards the finish. no doubt after this song was done, she would find another partner, and if not, then she wouldn’t mind dancing by herself for a little while. it wasn’t the end of the world when guys weren’t lining up around the block to dance with her. liah knew that once she started moving her hips, guys would see her and instantly be drawn to her. no, she wasn’t being up herself and yes, liah’s kind of self absorbed sometimes, but it was the truth. even her friends had grudgingly agreed to her theory over the years. whether it was the fact that she just had a great body or it was something else, liah didn’t care. as long as she was having a good time nothing else mattered. which was probably why her friends were always joking that she breaks at least one heart a day.
liah raised her hands so that they curled around the guy’s neck. around them people were beginning to break apart as the song drew near to the end. suddenly though, her thoughts were being interrupted by the noise of someone’s words. speaking to her. turning her head, she stepped back from her dance partner a little to see who it was that dared interrupt her before she was finished. predictably it was a guy, one that apparently wanted to dance with her. quickly she took in his shirt and jeans, a smirk on her face. definitely not her type. although he did look pretty good, what with his bad boy looks and dangerous aura, but definitely not her kind of guy. it was probably all for show, a bluff, and when he actually met liah, he’d realise that. about to shake her head, liah was again interrupted by the guy she had been dancing with. she watched in disbelief as he nodded his head in ascent and started dancing with a blonde girl who had evidently followed the other guy. from the looks of the girl, she was a slut with no taste in clothes. a hanger on who waited to be picked up by horny guys so she could have a free ticket into any club she wanted.
sighing, she turned back to the guy who had interrupted her in the first place. since he was okay looking, she might as well dance with him. the song which had been coming to an end abruptly changed to a faster beat. watching the guy critically, she nodded her head. there was no use in speaking unless they were physically close together. moving closer, liah’s critical look changed to a predatory one. surely she’d eat this guy for breakfast, that was, unless he proved himself to be something more. like a cat, liah couldn’t abide by boredom and as soon as a guy bored her, she’d move on to play with some other guy. brushing up against him, she looped her arms around his neck and began swaying her hips in time to the music. liah had never exactly been very tall, in fact, all her life she had been only a tiny bit above average. even in her killer black stilettos, liah was only a few inches higher. the guy she was dancing with however was taller than her by about half a head. liah gazed up at him, her amber eyes sparkling with defiance and a dare to take her on. test one, would he take her on? yes, he’d go onto test two. no? well, he’d just have to find some other girl to play with.

Despite his over-confidence, Noah knew that tonight was his night. Most days when he choose to wander around the city i need of some physical and emotional ecstasy it was his night. That was his persona. Partying, schmoozing, picking up girls, whatever the word Noah was good at it. His liking to such an atmosphere wasn't something he always bared. It came to him out of a defense mechanism. A way to hide himself from the truth and what ate at his insides. It was a getaway that was introduced with no hesitation and once he became comfortable at the game, Noah grew to be the player, both figuratively and truthfully. First was the player of a board game. He could easily manipulate the atmosphere and the people within it play at his own level. And second was the physical player. The guy known to sleep around and move from one girl to the next. Both made up this young, over-confident male. Did he care that he owned a bad reputation? Not really. He had friends who stuck by him either way, which was all he needed.
The majority of his buddies may not have been the brightest of best but they kept Noah living. That was all he wanted. No need to suffer at such a young age. He was living life they way he should have in the first place. Care-free and worry-less. Of course he got the occasional insults from women who hated him and even some guys, who only choose to come at him because Noah happened to hit on their girls. That was the normal but he never backed down from fight and was very capable of holding his own ground. His confidence factor kept him fearless what would happen next in his life. Like another child for example. An unexpected event just like before. Sure he cared about Abi more then she knew but getting her pregnant was far out of his rule. In fact it was the very thing he was running from to begin with. He hated ignoring Abi and walking out on her but it was in his nature. She should have known better. It was Noah for christ sakes. The immature bastard her only cared about himself. But deep down he had feelings that seemed unreal for him. Feelings that no one has ever scene or witnessed and that was how he was planning to keep it.
His excitement and confidence fed on everything that surrounded him. The bleach blond butte that he walked in with. The pounding music that filled his ears. The warm air that had a tingling sensation against the skin. And the sweet taste of intoxicated liquid that swiveled down his throat. This was life and this was how Noah believed everyone should live it. Though, of course there are some downfalls. Like leaving with someone other then the blond or drinking to much alcohol to the point when you can't remember a damn thing you did the night before. Those were outcomes that many smart people took into consideration before going out at night. But Noah wasn't smart and frankly didn't care what the outcomes in the end. As long as the moment was lived to its fullest, then everything was worth it. It was the sort of attitude he formed randomly and adapted to. One that would carry him threw his life in more bad ways then good.
Yet, those were things Noah attempted not to think about. Why worry and contemplate on a night like this? His intentions were to have fun and that was what he planned to do. It didn't take long for his attention to draw away from the blond he had picked out from the line outside. She was ditsy, obnoxious, and not his type. In the midst of a boring conversation he caught a glimpse of a Burnett who had so much energy that it was effecting him as an onlooker. There was no way he could pass up a girl like that and took leave without a second thought. He felt bad for leaving the blond, who mentioned her name was Cassi, when all of her friends were still outside but out of a gentleman act he left her some money, assuming she would cling to another male figure within a matter of minutes. Noah ran a hand threw his short cropped hair and maneuvered threw swaying bodies until he reached his destination. To his luck the guy she had been dancing with had been an acquaintance of his. So much of an acquaintance that he could remember the guys face but not his name. Either way the guy was more then willing to give up his dancer partner.
Noah's dark eyes narrowed down on the girl, not even trying to hide the fact that he was checking her out. No doubt she was different from most of the women and he wasn't just thinking that either. She had more confidence then everyone in the club combined. Her outfit wasn't trashy as in short skirts and belly revealing shirts. It was quite professional and sexy at the same time. Noah liked that a lot. She was very alluring and irresistible. Every move was made without hesitation. She didn't seem so pleased do dance with him at first but he was sure he could easily change her mind. As the next song transitioned in with the last Noah placed one hand at her side and the other at the small of her back, pulling her body a little closer as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He moved his body with hers, always inching a bit closer. Slowly he ran his hands up her black jacket and up her arms until he had a hold of her hands. Swiftly he maneuvered her body to face the other way, dancing behind her, while keeping his hands laced with hers.

i heard that you were trouble BUT I COULDN'T RESIST ever since liah had turned eighteen, she had been captivated by the lights, the sounds, the adventures that the dark clubs offered her. to her it was almost like a surreal world, one with which she didn’t have to worry about anything. nothing could affect her when she stepped into the dark interior and let herself feel the music. some people thought this was silly, that clubbing was just dancing and flirting, but for liah it had always been a place to escape from her life, from her father. not that she told anyone this of course, not even her closest friends knew she had such feelings. it wasn’t that she didn’t trust them, it was just that liah had been a cynic for such a long time it was hard to share feelings that she had closed up within her a long time under lock and key, with a note attached to it saying ‘don’t touch’. it was in that box that she kept everything that was truly deep to her, including the fact that underneath all her cynicism she was afraid of rejection. if her friend Alison had been there she would have gone on about how her father was the reason for her deep seated fear of not being loved. liah didn’t doubt it was his fault, she just knew that it was also because she let the fear rule her that she was such a cynical person.
mentally she shook her head, it wasn’t the time nor the place to think such things. to do so would ruin the moment and, liah looked up into the nameless guy’s face, for some reason she wanted to keep dancing. this guy hadn’t been so easily offended by her offhand manner when she had greeted him after being left so impolitely by her previous partner. but as the famous saying went, she had to go with the flow. urgh, she thought to herself, never ever think that again. she had to smile though, it was such a weird saying, something that she would not have usually quoted. maybe her friend alison was finally rubbing off on her. liah turned her eyes to look upwards. it was strange but though she didn’t believe in love, she believed in the whole i’ll-love-you-for-tonight thing. liah moved closer to the guy’s body, her face still turned up to his, her eyes half closed and her mouth curved up in one of her notorious smiles. this was her element, this was where she belonged when she had free time on her hands. not only did she fit into crowd, she stood out in her own way. she knew that, it didn’t have everything to do with what she wore, it was her confidence.
if only her thirteen year old self could see her now she thought. she hadn’t always been like this, so ready to go out for a night on the town. but after she had finally realized that her father didn’t care what she did, she’d found herself finally relaxing and making more friends than ever. liah moved closer still so that her hips grazed the guy in front of her. her golden brown eyes sparked as she watched the guy. so far she hadn’t been disappointed though soon she supposed that he would think she was easy and making stupid remarks. that was the best thing about nightclubs, she usually didn’t have to the guys talk because a lot of them said the most idiotic stuff she’d ever heard. liah mentally shook her head, some of the pick up lines she’d heard in her life time should have been long ago buried and forgotten. although, she had to admit, sometimes, just sometimes, she did come across a guy who wasn’t totally boring. she lowered her eyelashes and studied the guy she was dancing with from beneath them. from the look of him, she’d be stupid to trust him. in fact, he reminded her of one of those pirates, the dangerously confident ones.
in liah’s opinion, all guys could be classified as something, even if she had to come up with a whole new category for them. this guy looked like a bad boy, not one of those cheap bought ones that were usually rich kids looking for cheap thrills, this guy looked like the real thing. and if there was one thing she loved more than the art of fashion, it was a rebel. not only were they not whiney like the guys she usually hung out with, they were a lot more interesting and could come up with better remarks. plus, they couldn’t buy her and had to work hard for her. and when someone had to work hard, didn’t they feel satisfaction afterwards? this last though made liah’s mouth curve up more and she finally lifted her eyelashes to look back up into the guy’s face. okay, so he’d passed the first test of getting her interested in the first place, now for the second, could he keep her interested? liah hoped so, already she had become to like the feel of dancing with him. at this thought, she noticed that while she had been studying him, he had been studying her, and not in the way that made her skin crawl. under his gaze, she actually moved just that bit closer to him.
as the song fell into the next one, she adjusted her speed so that she was in time with the music. after having had what seemed like an endless amount of classes in dancing and two wholes years on the club scene, she was good at it. as she adjusted her speed though, liah was just starting to wonder if he was going to make a move when she felt his warm hands move up her jacket to her hands. it felt good to have him move her hands over her, even if she was wearing clothes, though it came as surprise when she was swiftly spun around so that she was facing the crowd instead of him. though she quickly fell into the rhythm, she still smiled. so he knew how to keep a girl interested she thought. and he had kept their hands intertwined together, a nice touch in liah’s opinion. now that he was dancing behind her, she moved back so that she fit snuggly against his body, her speed adjusting to fit his. obviously this guy had done this, been here, but liah didn’t care because so had she. and like she’d said before, she’d be stupid to trust a guy that looked like a modern day pirate, but one night couldn’t be so bad. that was, if he kept her interested that long.
liah untwined her hands from his and held them so that they were almost wrapped around his neck whilst he was still dancing behind her. as she did this, the song slowed though not in ending, just in preparation for a fast moving chorus. liah took advantage of it though and slowed her dancing so that her body grazed against his. if this ended up where she thought it might then tonight wouldn’t be so bad, she would just have to see how he reacted to her advances on him.
