Jaeda is a 16-year-old junior at the local high school. At 5, she was diagnosed with acute promyelocitic leukemia, and has been fighting it on and off since then. She, along with the other two-thirds of her triplet set, were born in New York City, where they lived for most of their childhood. At 14, during her last relapse, their parents made Alyssa give Jaeda a kidney, which saved her from dying of kidney failure. Shortly thereafter, she was pronounced healthy, and they moved to Miami just before they started their first year in high school. And now Jaeda has relapsed again. Despite previous resolve not to fight the leukemia again, she is undergoing an aggressive treatment schedule- one week on, one week off. She is only doing it because her mother refuses to let go, and her friends won't let her give up. But she wants to give up- badly. Eventually, the doctors will tell her there's nothing else they can do, or try, and pronounce her terminal. Shortly thereafter, she will die. She is a very sweet girl, and loves making people happy. She'll do anything for the sake of laughs, and as a result has quite a few friends. She wishes her sister didn't hate her, but has given up trying to change the girl's mind.list;

Kenadie is a rookie cop from Washington, D.C. She grew up in a house with a single father and ten older brothers, along with a twin brother. But they are not her biological family. At birth, records were mixed up, and Kenadie, who was actual born with an identical twin, was switched with the girl who was actual the twin sister of her presumes twin brother. Kenadie and her fake-twin are both rookie cops here in Miami. Kenadie's real twin also lives here, and they have no idea each other exists. Kenadie is a wild child, always doing what she wants, when she wants. If she feels like doing something, she does it, because consequences are temporary but good times stay in the memory forever. She can be very friendly, and cares deeply about the people with whom she is friends.list;

Draco is an ER doctor in the local hospital. He also kills people on a semi-regular basis. He doesn't consider himself a typical serial killer though- he only targets those who have killed innocent people, who threaten someone he cares about (hint: very few), or that is a risk for exposing Draco's secret. He recently became the foster-father of a young girl, and will eventually become fiercely attached to her. He is a cold, uncaring, jackass, to put it lightly. He is a man of few words, unless he is bitching someone out. He gets very angry very easily, and as a result would have few (if any) real friends, and it's highly unlikely that a woman would tolerate his behavior.list;

Aphy teaches theater at the local high school. Everyone assumes she is actually a "she"- albeit one very weird person. But she is actually a man, who dresses as a woman, lives as one. She just lets everyone, especially the high school administrators assume she is biologically female. She does things on impulses, often very whacky things that make people wonder why she hasn't been locked up in an insane asylum. She also has AIDS, and though she is marginally healthy now, she will eventually die from it- though definitely not in the near future. She lives each day to the fullest, and never suppresses the urge to do anything she wants to do.list;
